C.K Tools Sinks its Teeth into Improved Sabretooth Saw
4th September 2008"The pioneering first fix Sabretooth Saw retains its market leading profile for cutting speed."
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, Carl Kammerling International - leading supplier of quality hand tools and security solutions to industrial and consumer markets - is leading the way with an innovative upgrade to its hugely popular C.K tools Sabretooth Saw. With stockists reporting record sales when the Sabretooth launched in 2007, retailers are urged to stock up early to meet demand for this enhanced offering.
The new and improved model maintains the remarkable cutting speed of the original offering but now benefits from the addition of an improved soft grip handle, ergonomically designed to provide superior handling and maximum comfort in use.
End-user insight revealed that, while many people use the finger guide when starting the cut, it is common for tradesmen to lower their index finger towards the centre of the blade to achieve better balance and control following the initial cut. In answer to the markets’ needs the team at Carl Kammerling modified this best selling tool increasing the soft grip area to mimic this pattern. The unique handle further enhances the accuracy and quality of cut and provides effortless sawing with a sure grip.
The pioneering first fix Sabretooth Saw retains its market leading profile for cutting speed, which under CATRA testing (Cutlery Allied Trades Research Association) was found to outperform all other UK market leading brands, coming top of the ranks in a test of longevity and significantly leading the troops in terms of initial sharpness.
The test showed that the C.K tools first fix Sabretooth Saw took on average only 11.5 strokes to cut one piece of wood, against 14.6 for the nearest competitor – and even after cutting 100 wooden blocks, this outstanding saw showed only a very small reduction in cutting ability compared with the average.
With the new handle providing increased comfort and excellent handling, the multipurpose 22 inch saw still has a triple edge, diamond ground, hard point, rigid 1mm blade. Available as a first fix version with 7 teeth per inch and a second fix with 11 teeth per inch for finer jobs, Sabretooth’s precision gives the tradesman a more efficient and accurate cut.
The improved handle, an exclusive concept from Carl Kammerling, is accompanied by a modified blade profile, which, along with its unparalleled cutting ability, now features an angled nose providing easier access to tight corners.
Nicki Elkin, brand manager, C.K tools commented: “Carl Kammerling continuously looks to develop its product range for the benefit of the end-user. We work closely with a dedicated focus group of tradesmen to ascertain their day-to-day professional needs and use this invaluable feedback to improve our offering.
“By involving end-users in this way we are able to improve upon our market leading products, which increases demand and in turn profits for our stockists.”
